How I missed the fact that Rush Propst announced his resignation last night is beyond me. The guy is a helluva football coach - but I think he let all of his "power" in the state get to him. His affair was wrong, but I'll be damned if that has anything to do with the man's ability to coach.
Now - who's next in line at Hoover? Jeremy Pruitt only has a one year contract with the University of Alabama. He might not be a bad fit, but I doubt anyone there would want to bring in somebody that worked under Propst.

Then, I guess you're damned, because coaching involves more than just football. Ask CNS. Remember Coach Bryant. Coaching means teaching life lessons. Setting a bad example in your personal life (and lets get this straight, Probst did not hide his 'second family', it was public knowledge) is not a good model for my children or yours. I agree that he should have been fired. I never said that. Yes, it does set a bad example. I wasn't saying anything about whether I believe he should have been allowed to stay on as coach.
I was on board with wanting DuBose gone when his affair came out. I was on board with wanting Price gone when his "alleged incident" came out. I am on board now with Propst's ouster.
It clearly violates a person's ethics, and you can't work for or with somebody that you can't trust. If he has an ethics clause in his contract, then that is obviously just cause for his termination.
Regardless of everything else, aside from his personal life, the man knows how to coach the GAME of football. Coaches are more than just game coaches - they are also role models, and I do understand that.
