Friday - what a wonderful day...
Ahhh yes. Kentucky is, and always will be, Kentucky. Look for them to just get absolutely lit up at home next week by LSU, who dismantled South Carolina, who dismantled Kentucky.

Andre Woodson definitely looked human. Say bye-bye to the Heisman, sir.

Julio Jones looked incredible. He wasn't as dominant as I would have hoped for, but he did run over a couple of defense backs, made an incredible touchdown grab over a cornerback, and came back from an ankle injury to help his team beat Daphne for the first time in a decade. That's called star power.

If you don't think Brian Motley coming back is important, think again. Read more about why we need him on our thin defensive line.

This will be one of the most difficult homecoming games we've had at the Capstone in quite some time. Houston is a very balanced offensive football team, and their defense isn't awful either. Read more about what Coach Saban had to say about the Houston Cougers in his weekly press conference.

Like usual, the opposing non-conference team is coming into Bryant Denny looking to make a statement. Read more about Art Briles' Houston Cougars here.

The biggest thing for Alabama on Saturday will be to get consistent play from the offense. The longer you keep Houston off of the field, the better chance you have to win. If they don't have the ball, they can't score. Read more from BamaMag.com here.

Marlon Davis may miss the game Saturday due to a death in the family. Antoine Caldwell has been moved to his right guard position, and Evan Cardwell has been practicing at center. Sadly, I think there's a chance that this could work out better than the current lineup, and I think the coaches know that too. Read more here.

Finally, at MemphisTider.com, the Franchione drama never stops. Apparently, according to Franchione's contract, his secret newsletter was a violation of their contract with him, so if they want to fire him after the season, they don't have to pay his buyout. Couldn't have happened to a better guy, y'know? :-)

Comments: Thanks for all the updates! I check your page daily (multiple times really) and thank God that I stumbled upon it. I live, eat, and sleep Crimson Tide football. I'm a long time fan and graduate. Unfortunately, I no longer live in Alabama and keeping up would be difficult without your links and stories. Props for your dedication to the Tide! Thanks for work on this blog and your love of Alabama football.
