I suppose I get to give my thoughts on the idea of the Big 10 expanding again. Tom Delany's recent comments were taken waaaay out of context, but one would have to assume that the thought has been going through his mind, especially if they're wanting to try out their own sports network, etc. They don't have the NCAA-mandated 12 teams required for a conference championship game, which, on its own, could bring in millions upon millions of dollars for the conference. There's also the idea that the Big 10 could expand its television fanbase, thus drawing the same national appeal that the SEC would.
There's been talk about everyone from Notre Dame to Pitt to even Texas joining in, and I believe it could be a very good thing for them. It could create yet another championship game, and make it where we would get to see really good matchups, like last year we really would have liked to have seen Wisconsin against Ohio State, but because of the conference schedule, we didn't get to.
I'll post more about this throughout the next week. I'll research some numbers and see what would work best for everyone, teams and conference, and go from there.
