Right dead in the middle of the week. It can't get by quick enough.

Days 'til Season Kickoff: 52
Bama fans have been gearing up for several weeks now waiting for this Saturday's "In My Own Words: Nick Saban" special, which will air at 9:30pm CST on Fox SportSouth. The Tuscaloosa News has a preview of what to expect.
If you missed it, Yamene Coleman, next in line to take over for Jermareo Davidson at the 5 spot on this year's Tide Basketball team, was arrested and charged with 8 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. Mark Gottfried isn't saying anything yet, but this could be verrrry verrrry bad.
There's a good discussion going on over on the Tidesports.com board about the need for a new jumbotron in the south endzone to compete with a new one at Jordan-Hare. Personally, I feel that, if a sponsorship agreement can be met, we should go ahead with a new one. The Sony contract supposedly runs out this year, and it will be at least another 5 years before the South endzone expansion. I say go for it.
If you listen to Finebaum, he mentioned the other day that he feels that the Birmingham News has some info on Coach Saban and violations that they're not reporting yet. I'm curious if this has anything to do with the stuff going on over at Hoover or not. Somehow, I doubt it. I honestly doubt they have anything at all, because it would already be out, but we'll see what happens with that.
THE MIKE SHULA ERA
#20: Alabama 25 Hawaii 17
Ahh yes. Another rededication of Bryant-Denny Stadium. The coaches' statues were out front, the new "front door" looked fabulous, and we got a helluva football game.
Who woulda thought, other than Phil Steele, that Hawaii would be the read deal last year? They had been pitiful the year before, and showed no signs of really stepping up the talent. Boy, were we mistaken.
Our defense, in the first half and most of the 3rd quarter, showed signs of not missing a beat after losing a ton of NFL draft picks from the year before. We led 22-3 until about 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter when they finally scored a touchdown.
We kicked another field goal early in the 4th to make it 25-10, but they drove right down the field and made it 25-17. Both defenses held the rest of the game, and Brennan's pass from the Bama 26 on the last play of the game was intercepted by Lionel Mitchell.
Turns out that was our best win of the year. Haha.
