Dr. Witt and Mal Moore have either already met with Saban and discussed the job and are now on the way back (plane from Boca Raton will land in Tuscaloosa at 4:33 CST), or they were dropped off and will have dinner this evening.
"In his closeout meeting with the team Monday morning, Dolphins coach Nick Saban didn't give an indication as to what he would be doing next season and didn't talk about any potential job offers from the University of Alabama, according to two players."
"The University of Alabama today delivered to Dolphins coach Nick Saban an offer to leave Miami and become the Crimson Tide's coach.
Saban has not decided whether to stay or go.
The Dolphins coach is expected to meet with the media later this afternoon but might not announce a decision.
The Crimson Tide's offer was for approximately $40 million for an undetermined amount of years.
Saban has $15 million remaining on his contract with the Dolphins that extends for three more seasons. Saban is free to go to Alabama because there is no buyout or departure penalty from his Miami contract."
Very interesting that there's no buyout. He is expected to make a decision by Tuesday morning. We could hear a decision as early as this evening.
Also, did anyone else was paying attention to the talking heads on ESPN bringing up the idea that Plan B is sealed and delivered within 48 hours if Saban rejects the offer? They also said Petrino, Grobe, and possibly Cutcliffe.
Where the hell did Cutcliffe come from? The crap spewed from these idiots is just insane.
Also, Bama basketball OWNED Oklahoma today. Very nice to see a big win like that. Three big nonconference wins this year should prove good for the rpi later (Iowa on neutral court, NC State on the road, and Oklahoma at home).
