Well, I'm back in the hotel room. We're staying here tonight and then heading back to Memphis tomorrow morning.
The game tonight was just about what I expected. One team was fired up, the other barely showed up.l And what's so disturbing about it is that if Alabama had prepared and been completely focused like they should have been, then they could have won the game easily.
It bugs the crap out of me that little things continue to plague this team. It's obvious that their mindset is that they can't win. As soon as they stepped on the field, they screwed up (offense fumbled on their own 20 on the first drive of the game, leading to a quick Okla St touchdown), and it was downhill from there.
The 2nd half was absolutely ridiculous. The punt return was incredible, the fumble on the kickoff was lucky, and the eligible tackle play was just complete crap (but very cool). The defense again gave up the big plays at the end of the game to allow us to grab defeat out of a possible victory (see Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi St, Arkansas, etc). Our defense is insanely weak and has been all season.
Either way, it was a fun distraction from the coaching search for a little while. I don't know if Joe Kines has a whole lot of fire left. He said last week that if the next coach doesn't retain him as defensive coordinator, then he's just going to retire. To me, if you can live without it, then you don't need to do it anymore.
I saw Keith Brown run into the locker room by himself in the first half, and I didn't see him come back out. Does anybody know what's going on with that? Also, props to Nico from rollbamaroll.com. We had a nice afternoon with lots of good conversation about everything from the cyber world, to bowl games of the past, to other sec schools, to c-usa schools, to how annoying Oklahoma State fans are (yeah, unfortunately the few we talked to really are assholes).
I didn't get a whole lot of information tonight, but there were a few interesting things talked about. I'll be sure and post those tomorrow once I return to Memphis and organize my thoughts a bit. Goodnight and Roll Tide!

Brown walked off the field into the locker room and did not return of his own accord. He is a big baby and lost his temper because he dropped a few balls early. Apparently, perserving was not an option in his mind. He was scolded by Kines later. If you walk off the field in the middle of the game, you don't deserve to play. This is yet another example of the lack of discipline and passion that some bama players exhibit due to poor leadership. # posted by Anonymous : 4:19 PM
