Jeremy Green from ESPN says Saban?
There was a chat held this afternoon with Jeremy Green at ESPN.com. He said that he has heard very strongly from two members of Saban's staff that he will be announced as Alabama's new head coach next week. He said "I don't think Alabama has interviewd anyone for 2-weeks. He has told people it is his dream job and they would make him the highest paid coach in college football. If it is truly his dream job, I don't see how he could pass that up."

Totally contradicts all of the Stoops stuff that I've been hearing, but then again, I haven't found a single person who has been right about all of this yet.

In Shreveport I did hear a pretty good conspiracy theory about Rodriguez though. Mal never wanted to even test Rodriguez's interest. He wanted to wait on Saban to finish the NFL season before finalizing a contract. The BOT did not want to wait until January, and they wanted to try and go after a big name college coach. Rodriguez happened to fit the bill, so they met in NY, and Mal basically put in a low offer and gave him until the end of that week. Rodriguez didn't even get to visit Tuscaloosa before he was asked to decide.

Now tell me, who would drop everything they've ever known, take their family out of their hometown and move to a place that they've never even visited, even if it's for more money? I'm thinking that he's doing just fine at WV. He's pretty much got a lifetime contract, making a million and a half every year, and really only has to prepare for about 4 games every year. He can go 9-2 and people think he's a god.

Anyway, I will go ahead and let everyone know the following:

I DON'T KNOW WHO THE COACH IS.

There's just too much crap coming out, and even sources that had usually been credible before have been giving out information that has turned out to be wrong. I'm going to continue to post things that I hear, just to have a conversation piece, but I'm not posting any facts, because right now, there's not anything that anybody can prove.

Comments: If Stoops has expressed interest in the University of Miami and Arizona Cardinals jobs, I'd be pissed at Mal Moore if he didn't give him a call to inquire!

Coaching wise, Saban and Stoops could be nack and neck.

Either way you're kicking out a buttload of money, so interview both.
