"UPDATE: UA releases statement on coaching situation
This is the full text of the statement released from the UA Athletics Department:
TUSCALOOSA | University of Alabama Director of Athletics Mal Moore is releasing the following statement regarding the Crimson Tide football program:
“As is customary at the end of the regular season, we are evaluating our football program. We are evaluating every aspect of our program and this is not a process that I wish to discuss at length in a public forum. We are bowl-eligible and we hope to remain positioned to play in a bowl game. We remain firm in our commitment to our student-athletes. I am proud of their efforts throughout this season and we are more determined than ever to return Alabama football to its rightful place among college football’s elite.”
Neither Mr. Moore nor Coach Shula will be available to the media until after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We thank you for your patience and consideration."
Silence speaks louder than words, my friends.

You wouldn't be on this site if you weren't worried that we are actually getting Spurrier. # posted by Anonymous : 5:49 PM
Funny how the names "Spurrier" and "Saban" strike fear in the hearts of barners. Beat your chest all you will for the 5 straight wins over us. Make no mistake, the ONLY reason the barn has seen a recent rise in success is due to our misfortunes. Had we not been placed on probation, the barn would still be cycling through cheap coaches like the one we have now. # posted by Anonymous : 6:13 PM
Exactly...My friend that goes to Auburn called me Tuesday afternoon to tell me how worried the student-body was when they first heard the Spurrier rumors. # posted by Anonymous : 6:21 PM
I'm close friends with some Auburn fans and the feeling is the same. Three things they fear: the name Spurrier, the name Saban, and any talk of our tradition. For some reason, they want to defuse ANY mention of our tradition and downplay it. Probably because they don't have any of their own and they know its just a matter of time before we return to prominence. Much like Southern Cal, Texas, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame have. If memory serves, they were all struggling a few years ago and have returned. So shall we. So shall we... # posted by Anonymous : 6:31 PM
