I don't know about anyone else, but I just bought my tickets to the Independence Bowl. The bench sides are already sold out, and the endzone seats are going fast.

Memphistider, Don't you think it is time to take the picture of Shula off your header? Or are you waiting to replace it with Spurrier's picture? # posted by Anonymous : 12:20 PM

Crimson Tide Foundation jet landed in Tampa at 11:38am. Could someone be meeting with Jon Gruden? I do think he's a great coach and a firecracker on the sidelines to boot. I dont think he'll stare at the jumbotron cause he'll be busy arguing for our team. Just a thoght.... # posted by Anonymous : 12:22 PM
I think Gruden would be an excellent choice. I still have my hopes up for Spurrier, though. How sick am I??? # posted by Anonymous : 12:32 PM
I've lost hope on Spurrier. By losig hope on him, I'll be like a kid on Christmas morning if he does come. I'd love to have him, but it looks highly unlikely. I hope I'm wrong!!! # posted by Anonymous : 12:47 PM
Bama is in Tampa on a recruiting trip. Note they stopped in Mobile, Pensacola then Tampa. We have several recruits pending from those areas. # posted by Anonymous : 12:49 PM
Still waiting on the outcome before I change the picture up there. :-) Don't worry...it'll be changed. # posted by Memphis Tider : 12:52 PM
I'm beginning to lose a little hope. But what keeps the hope alive is this, Spurrier know's the rumors. He has publicly denied any interest in Miami. He has yet to say the same for Bama. What he will say is that he's, "not interested in leaving South Carolina." That is a bunch of coach-speak. Fran was saying the same as he was boarding the plane to ink his deal in College Station.
If he's not interested in Bama, then he would come out and close the door on it. Saying something like, "I'm not leaving for Bama."
See, that wasn't hard. And yet, he hasn't done it. That doesn't mean he's coming, but that doesn't mean he isn't. After all, what is he - or his friends and family - supposed to say? "Yes, I'm talking to Bama and close to inking a deal. You'll hear about it in the Huntsville Times this Thursday" ??? # posted by Anonymous : 12:54 PM

Del Rio had the right Idea, he said he said a simple....no...when they do that they mean it. # posted by 4SEAM : 1:47 PM
Forget Spurrier, we need Petrino and Bill Oliver. SEC Champs and Heisman with JPW....do not need Coach Rod or Paul Johnson. # posted by Anonymous : 2:47 PM
ill take an SEC champ, but i don't see see JP getting the heisman. and even though i am a die hard bama fan, i hope he doesn't. # posted by Anonymous : 2:56 PM
can't you talk liberty into taking us Memphis tiders? # posted by Anonymous : 3:11 PM
"our players don't win heismans, our teams win national championships" -bear bryant
i don't think a bama player will ever win the heisman for us and it's fine w/ me # posted by Anonymous : 3:20 PM
roll tide. what good is the heisman when you dont have a championship ring # posted by Anonymous : 3:22 PM
Yeah... ask Geno Teretta (sp?) how great it felt to win the Heisman in '92. He loved it so much, he was on the bench crying during the National Championship game. Oh wait, he was crying because he was getting his A$$ handed to him. # posted by Anonymous : 3:45 PM
Are we really headed to the independence bowl or what - where can i find out. When can I find out? # posted by Anonymous : 3:47 PM
Well... The Ind Bowl is set for the No. 8 SEC team, and since LSU and the FLA/ARK winner are going to BCS games, that bumps Bama up to the No. 8 SEC team. So it's pretty much set. # posted by Anonymous : 3:50 PM
