basically said nothing other than that he knows that Spurrier's talk about being committed to South Carolina may not be as true as he wants people to believe.
He also said he thinks Spurrier's doing a great job, and that he thinks Spurrier could be in the SEC Championship game NEXT YEAR at Alabama, and that he would love to see Coach Spurrier in Tuscaloosa.
He's saying he'll cross that bridge whenever he gets there, but that he's not going to call Spurrier personally to worry him with it right now before the Clemson.

In all honesty I think that we won't hear anything about Shula being gone until we get a guy to replace him for sure. Now, if the whole Spurrier story is true, we won't hear about it until next monday (after the USC/Clemson game). This could be the longest week of speculation and rumors in the history of the world. It's getting to be worse than a highschool hallway. # posted by Anonymous : 4:16 PM
I just wanna know if there is any truth to the Spurrier situation, then why is there nothing on ESPN or CBS? I want Spurrier more than anybody, but it seems like it might just be hearsay... b/c atleast with the Miami situation atleast it was on national websites... I think we have a better shot at gettin Nick Saban at the end of next year after he gets run out of Miami # posted by Anonymous : 4:22 PM
The funny thing about the Miami deal was the fact that "Spurrier's daughter brought the rumor to his attention". I find it hard to believe that his daughter was the only one that knew about it. I'm HOPING that this could be a distraction to keep people thinking that Spurrier was even a thought in Prez Whitt or Mal's minds. # posted by Anonymous : 4:26 PM
I'm sorry...I mean't to say "NOT a thought in Whitt or Moore's minds" # posted by Anonymous : 4:27 PM
Maybe so, I hope so.... but I really dont think that Spurrier would up and leave his players after just 2 years.... I mean that did happen to us (FRAN) # posted by Anonymous : 4:38 PM
There's just too many arrows (which are rumors, but arrows) pointing to Spurrier coming here. There's also way too much silence from the program right now to assume Shula will be staying. # posted by Anonymous : 4:51 PM
Has anyone else heard that Radier was fired Sunday morning? # posted by Anonymous : 5:13 PM
ok i don't know anything but i do know this. spurriers name is being thrown around to go to miami. so why if everyone knows something about him coming to bama can't espn or any other reliable source report on it. that why i say all the spurrier talk is hogwash # posted by Anonymous : 5:29 PM
because it is not happening. # posted by Anonymous : 5:31 PM
maybe your right.... I just think if he were a serious candidate for Shula's replacement, then I figured there would be more "gossip" on say, ESPN or CBS.... but the thing with it is, Witt and Mal dont want to get rid of Shula... so we have to hope that the Trustees who do want him gone will pull through and hopefully bring a bug-time, proven coach to the capstone... maybe Spurrier if we are lucky, keyword being LUCKY # posted by Anonymous : 5:33 PM
spurrier is not coming to bama. he wants to build a program from basically scratch. people make crap like this up all the time about coaches all the time. nothing is reliable on internet message boards with regards to college sports. for anyone to actually believe that spurrier is going to bama is just stupid. # posted by Anonymous : 5:53 PM
spurrier is goin nowhere, he loves it in columbia. Pluss, he called commitment brian maddox and told him that he was stayin till he retires # posted by Anonymous : 7:43 PM
didnt the board of trustees vote to keep mike price...that would have been awesome if what the board of trustees decide actually meant something! # posted by Anonymous : 11:00 PM
Oh, Spurrier called a high school kid and told him he was staying until he retired... Well that changes everything. Because everyone knows that head coaches only tell the truth to high school kids!
Everyone talks like they know what Spurrier is going to do. No one knows what he's thinking or what he wants to do. # posted by Anonymous : 6:07 PM
