Spurrier rode the team bus back to Columbia, SC and spoke to the fans at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Watching Wake Forest at the moment. If Spurrier declines, is Jim Grobe the next choice? Very interesting. Also starting to feed into this whole Paul Johnson idea...
Also, as far as bowl games go, I recently posted over at TideSports.com about our bowl chances hanging on whether or not the SEC gets two teams into the BCS. Here's my post:
"LSU will be in the top 7 or 8 of the BCS. Either they or the loser of the SEC Championship game will be the 2nd SEC team in, thanks to West Virginia's loss today. Had WV won, a win over Rutgers next week, or a Rutgers win over them would have been much bigger. Louisville gets in based on being Big East Champs.
The only teams that get guarantees into the BCS are the champs of the Big 10, Big XII, Big East, Pac 10, SEC, and ACC and any non BCS team that finishes the season in the top 12. A conference can only have 2 teams in the BCS (bye bye Wisconsin)
Here are the options, according to the BCS top 25:
Big 10: Ohio St, Michigan, Wisconsin Big XII: Oklahoma, Nebraska (no at large) Big East: Rutgers, Louisville Pac 10: USC (no at large) SEC: Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn ACC: Ga Tech, Wake, Maryland (no at large) At Large: Boise St, Notre Dame
and that's about it. so here's the probable matchups (and remember, Notre Dame is guaranteed a bid if they finish with 2 losses or less and are ranked in the BCS top 8):
NC Game - Ohio State (Big 10 Champs) vs. Michigan/Florida (SEC Champs)/USC (Pac 10 Champs)
Rose Bowl - Michigan/USC (Pac 10 Champs) vs Rutgers/Louisville/Notre Dame (would they allow a ND/Mich or ND/USC rematch?)
Fiesta - Oklahoma/Nebraska vs Boise St
Sugar - Ark/FL (SEC Champs) vs Louisville/Rutgers (Big East Champs)
Orange - Ark/FL/LSU vs Wake/Maryland/Ga Tech (ACC Champ)
I guess the only way that the SEC wouldn't get a 2nd bid is if Rutgers destroyed West Virginia and Notre Dame finished in the top 8. They'd have to pick Rutgers or Louisville over an SEC school.
I think the chance of the SEC only get one team into the BCS is slim to none. Pack your bags for Shreveport everyone."

Spurrier's double rode the bus. The real Spurrier is in TTown...
Dr. Witt, Moore, and Spurrier are speaking with Q at Headquarters and outfitting him with a watch lser, a AR33 assault rifle, and a martini shaker....that explodes. # posted by 4SEAM : 9:50 PM
all this means nothing. Fran stuck with Bama all the way until after the Bowl game with Hawaii even though he knew he was leaving before the iron bowl. just because spurrier rode the bus back with the team doesn't mean he's not coming to Bama. Doesnt mean he is either. just a point # posted by Anonymous : 11:06 PM
Bill Oliver may have some telling news soon. # posted by Anonymous : 11:21 PM
I believe that we should look at another plane and not the Cessna. there was a plane that flew in from Columbia to Stuttgart the same day that PB Jr's plane flew in. That plane left and flew to Clemson and then back to Columbia. It might all be a strange coincidence, but someone associated with Coach Spurrier more than likely had some contact with Bryant. Have you ever seen Stuttgart? Everyone knows everyone. # posted by Anonymous : 1:59 AM

My feeling, the plane was carrying a bama delegation who after we have consulted with him what 3-4 times it apapears now....once during a Florida game, and after, in Augusta.....etc. We have been courting him....Him coming bakc on the plane means nothing. him signing on the dotte dline does....this ain't a midnight operation. This Urgent Fury okay, The commies haven't taken over South Carolina....we don't neep DELTA FORCE to go in there and get him out.
He signed the contract we had, we took it back, he is all perfect and comfortable, he is pakcing his stuff ordering a u-haul and getting ready to make his announcement on monday.
Our Monday team meettings were moved up to Sunday, the news concernign Witt and Moore's decision to keep on "evaluating" and not diffusing anything conerning Shula and the fatc the liar slike Mcready are idiotically pretending South Carolina has a chance to be anything MUCH LESS SOON is absolutley pathetic....and points to them not knowing anything....USC has no money, bad facilities, bad spot, horrible recruting groudn dminated by Clemson, SPurrier has to go out fo state and usually that si local out of state, He is competing with Butch Davis now, Jawjuh, UT, and Florida.....yeah right...PLUS boosters screwing up everything more(what few they have) etc. etc.
W ehave tons fo money, great facilities, all brand new, GREAT FOOTBALL AREA, GREAT RECRUTING BASE, we AUTO RECRUIT , Great Tradition..ties, contacts, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY...and his friend Bill Oliver. # posted by 4SEAM : 2:17 AM
