So Alabama opens as a 14.5 point favorite against an improving Ole Miss team. Seriously, if this isn't a sucker bet, I don't know what is. Alabama hasn't beaten ANYBODY by two touchdowns this year, other than Duke and La-Monroe (and I really shouldn't count those two).
This past week was the midpoint of the season. Lost a heartbreaker, beat the teams we were supposed to, and lost to who is now the #2 team in the country, at their place. And it was a close game.
I'm more upset with the coaching staff at this point in the season than I was even after game 4. We don't seem to be getting better. Actually, it seems more like we're getting worse. Seriously, I saw smoke coming out of Kines' ears the other night during the first half. The offensive line was atrocious, JP looked like a sophomore again (coaches' fault), and the defense looked like they didn't even want to play. They flat out got exposed on the defensive line. Duke ran the ball up and down the field on us like it was as easy as Britney Spears.
And somebody, for the love of God, PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY CHRIS CAPPS IS STILL PLAYING RIGHT TACKLE THROUGH 6 GAMES?!?! He could be the worst offensive lineman born to this planet. It's almost comical to watch him get flattened by teams that shouldn't even THINK about pushing us around. And yet, you watch in amazement as he gets pushed over, time and time again. Run blocking sucks. Pass blocking ain't much better.
The worst part is...that horse's ass will be back again next year. He's only a junior.
CBS announced it will be televising Alabama vs. Tennessee next Saturday. Yippee. Gary Danielson is just awful. I can't stand listening to that sonuvabitch. He doesn't have a clue what he's talking about half the time.
Anyway, here's a little cheering up for everyone. Hope you have a good evening. I'll have more tomorrow.
