Back to the normal work week.
Days 'til VaTech: 102

We're getting close to starting our countdown to the first football game. You know we're getting closer because the SEC meetings in Destin are starting up today.

I gotta tell ya...I'm really ready for football season. I cooked out yesterday, cleaned up the house, and managed to watch last season's Ole Miss game (that ended 24-20) and the Auburn game (36-0). Those really had me ready to watch this year's squad.

Tommy Hicks states the obvious in his latest article: everybody's waiting to see what happens with Kiffin at the SEC meetings.

If you want to know some of what will be discussed at this year's meetings, check out this article.

Mike Slive is planning on stopping the horse crap at the meetings - most of which started with Tennessee's Lane Kiffin. Read more here.

The baseball team is returning to Clemson, SC - the site of Coach Wells' first regional with Alabama back in 1995. Bama is the #2 seed in this regional and will play #3 Oklahoma St on Friday for the shot to play against the winner of #1 Clemson and #4 Tennessee Tech. Read up on more info about it here.

I picked up the new issue of Lindy's over the weekend. I'll be going to pick up the new Athlon today, along with anything else that may be out that I don't know about. I'm not sure why I pick up all of these magazines when just one of them would do fine. I guess I'm just that enthralled with all of it. Oh well.

More later!

Back to Bama news.
Days 'til VaTech: 108

Lane Kiffin is an idiot. And I hate Tennessee. Haha. They self-reported another rules violation to the NCAA. Read up on it here. They just can't keep from doing stupid stuff.

Pretty interesting lil story about DJ Fluker. I think it's awesome. Read more here.

Craig Sanders became Alabama's 12th commitment for next year's class. All before June. Pretty incredible. Read Andrew Bone's article on it here.

Kellen Williams will be out this year on what he called "a medical redshirt." Interesting. Read more here.

Kent Matthes was named the 2009 SEC Player of the Year. And deservedly so. Read it up over here.

Alabama will open with South Carolina in the 2009 SEC Tournament. They've got the late game. Just like last year when they played Kentucky and the game lasted til almost 2am. I remember. I watched. Anyway, read up on it here.

Wow. How the little step brothers have fallen. Mississippi State's coach is talking shit? Read more here.

Comcast has agreed to terms with the NFL Network, ESPNU, and ESPN360.com. I can dig it. We all knew it would have to happen eventually, thanks to the SEC and ESPN agreeing to a new contract and ESPN taking over the Raycom games. Read more about it here.

3rd Saturday in Blogtober has a very interesting take on the scholarship numbers game. Read up on it here.

Been a minute...
Days 'til VaTech: 113

Only 113 days left! We'll have our annual countdown probably beginning at 100 days. Still not sure what we'll be doing...but you can bet it'll be interesting, to say the least. We may break it up into sections this year.

Saban, in Montgomery the other night, mentioned that Prince Hall "will not be on the team" this season. He then went back and said he's off the team right now, that he's suspended. Another scholarship open? I believe so.

Dr. Saturday thinks Alabama will be a contender for the title. Read up on it here.

Tony Barnhart has Alabama at #4 in the country in his post-spring Top 25. Read more here.

Mark Schlabach has Alabama at #8 in his - right behind Ole Miss. Ha. Read more here.

I'm sure I'll have more this weekend or Monday. Tonight - Memphis in May BBQ Festival!

So...this is what I did on Sunday.
Days 'til VaTech: 123

So, as you can tell, I haven't updated much. It's been a week since the Crimson Caravan and I've been busy with other projects. Namely this one...

Yeah. We played Memphis in May on Sunday. It was HUUUGE. And awesome, too. To anyone that came out...thank you from the bottom of my heart. :-)

I'll post more about actual Bama news later. Haha.
