The football team reported this morning. I hope the players are just as anxious as we are. It should be some kinda fun, I'll tell you that much. If they thought the 4th quarter program was tough...just wait for fall practice. Again, I'll be in Tuscaloosa for most of the day Saturday, basically just enjoying the afternoon in the promised land, eating ribs, and buying as much garb as my credit card will allow. Haha.
Alabama will have 88 scholarship athletes report today. That's 3 more than the NCAA allotted 85. Which means we will need to find 3 players to "suggest" giving up their scholarship. Any takers?
The Decatur Daily talks about the position battles that will be worked out, hopefully, through fall practice, including running back and full back, along with several defensive ones.
The Sporting News has a preview of Florida State, in which they say that Alabama has the best chance to pull an upset over them.
The newcomers will face a very fast-paced practice schedule over the next few weeks. It's something they may not quite be used to, but which will be used to get them ready for the season. Remember, the freshmen didn't get to go through the 4th quarter program in the spring.
