Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the plain and simple facts between Brent Schaeffer and Michael Spurlock.
Through the first 6 games of the season:
Brent Schaeffer: (6'2" 195lbs, left handed) Rushing: 60 for 101 yards (1.7 yds per carry) - 1 TD Passing: 55 out of 122 (45%) 622yds - 4 TD - 8 INT
First 6 opponents: Memphis, @ Missouri, @ Kentucky, Wake Forest, Georgia, Vanderbilt
Michael Spurlock: (5'11" 200lbs, right handed) Rushing: 33 for -53 yards (-1.7 yds per carry) - 0 TD Passing: 92 out of 171 (54%) - 1,188yds - 4 TD - 5 INT
First 6 opponents: @ Memphis, @ Vanderbilt, Wyoming, @ Tennessee, The Citadel, Alabama
vs.
My conclusion:
Schaeffer is a left handed Spurlock. Same dumb decisions. Same lack of talent surrounding him. At least Spurlock could blame it on the broken finger after game 3. Hell, he accounted for almost double the yards, and gave up 3 less interceptions. Now, Ole Miss fans, who would you rather have playing QB?
